HEALTHY HEART BEAT – HEALTHY BLOOD PRESSURE
·       Globally 9.4 million people die from hypertension each year.
·       A faster than normal heart beat is usually greater than 100 beats per minute (while at rest)
·       An irregular heart beat or rhythm may present as
o   Tiredness
o   Fainting
o   Feeling an irregular beat in your chest
o   Absolutely NOTHING
·       Hypertension is the most common cause or risk factor that may lead to atrial fibrillation (abnormal heart beat)
·       Atrial Fibrillation (AF) is the most common problem when the heart is pumping very irregularly and usually fast. It leads to blood clot formation and sometimes stroke.
o   Individuals with atrial fibrillation have a risk of stroke that is 3 to 5 times greater than those without atrial fibrillation.
PREVENTION IS THE BEST PRESCRIPTION
·       Stay active ALWAYS
·       Eat more Fruits & Vegetables
·       Decrease Fat, Sugar & Salt in your food and drinks
·       Drink LITTLE or NO alcohol
·       STOP smoking
